Our Vision

A community where every child feels connected to the sea and empowered by the skills and values it teaches — independence, teamwork, resilience, and joy.

Our Story

KATS (Kids And The Sea) began in the Virgin Islands over 50 years ago as a way to give island youth access to boating and maritime skills.
The St. John chapter has become a beloved program, helping generations of young people discover their confidence on the water.

Today, our students learn everything from basic swimming to advanced sailing and regatta racing. Many have gone on to maritime careers, college sailing teams, and leadership roles in the community.
